FDR's New Deal Solutions
FDR and the WPA
In order to solve some of the unemployment that the Great Depression caused, FDR created the WPA (Works Progress Administration). The WPA gave jobs to unemployed Americans in order to help them financially. In the year 1935 when there were around 10 million men without jobs, the WPA provided 3 million of them with jobs.
Other functions of the WPA:
FDR and the AAA
The AAA (Agricultural Adjustment Administration) helped farmers financially. Because of overproduction of crops led to a decrease in farm income, the government said they would pay the farmers anyway. The less that was being grown, the higher the price was for farm goods.
